Our breeding policy has been to blend the best global genetics to produce large-framed cattle, which are easily fleshed, whilst retaining all the traditional thickness of the Aberdeen Angus breed

Stock bulls

BALLAMANAUGH ESTEFAN

The first stock bull was Ballamanaugh Estefan - purchased in 1999 and he remained in the herd until 2002 when he was lost through injury

He continues to have a massive impact on the herd, siring superb females with stature, shape and thickness throughout – today some 50% of home-bred cows are sired by him and all families have offspring

Ballamanaugh Estefan was bred by Ballamanaugh Farms on the Isle of Man and won the Male Championship & Reserve Supreme Championship at the Royal Highland Show for us in 2000 to lift the Ballindalloch Cup – first presented in 1892 and never previously won by Irish breeders

DRUMLISTER CHERRY BOY A882

In 2001 we purchased Drumlister Cherry Boy at foot of his dam as the top selling lot at the Drumlister Sale when sold for 3,300 guineas

Cherry Boy went on to win the Male & Reserve Supreme Championship at the Royal Ulster Show in 2003

He was sired by Tidy Boy X73 of Blelack [TC Stockman 365] and went on to produce several good females and a number of useful, thick bulls for us, despite only being used for one season before being injured

His dam Clover Cherry Blosom W14 had a very successful show career at Drumcorn winning Breed Championships at Antrim, Armagh, Clogher Valley, Enniskillen & Saintfield. She also won the Ulster Championship in 2004 and a number of Inter Breed Championship awards including Supreme Inter Breed Champion at Antrim in 2004

She also bred Drumcorn Cherry Bee B217 that won Female & Reserve Supreme Champion, Royal Ulster Show and Second, Royal Highland Show 2004
